EUI Ireland online info session

The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA) as EUI Urban Contact Point for Ireland will host an online info session on June 10th between 10.30am and 1pm. The info session will focus on a range of current and future opportunities available to Ireland’s 31 local authorities.
We would invite you to join us on the day!

In terms of the event programme, after words of welcome from the EMRA Director Clare Bannon, the Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage will say a few words. Contact Point for Ireland Karl Murphy will next set out the different opportunities available under the EUI Programme. Following this, Maya Walker of the EUI’s Permanent Secretariat will present the Innovative Actions call, followed by a Q&A. Karl will then focus on both capacity building calls: City-to-City Exchanges and Peer Reviews, before explaining the Thematic Partnership opportunities available under the Urban Agenda for the EU (UAEU), followed by a final Q&A, in advance of concluding the session.

The 3rd call for Innovative Actions opened on May 6th and will remain open until October 14th. Focusing on the two topics are Energy Transition and Technology in Cities, projects should be Innovative, Participative, Measurable, Transferable & Scalable, and of Good Quality in their experimental approach to solving an urban challenge under either of these topics.

We are yet to have a funded Innovative Actions (IA) project in Ireland, so we strongly encourage all eligible local authorities to attend the above event and to apply to this final “big” call of the current programming period which sees some €90m available for up to twenty IA projects.

We have two Irish local authorities currently undergoing City-to-City Exchanges and this capacity building opportunity remains open on a continuous basis. Following the closing of a recent call for Peer Reviews, another call will open in quarter 4, focusing on article 11 “cities”. We will cover more on these opportunities during the above session and discuss other ways to get involved in all things urban!
