EUI Peer Review 8 – Romania

This will be our second visit to Romania for a Capacity Building Peer Review event! This time, the event will take place in late April in Alba Iulia. It will gather 60 professionals and experts who work in and for cities, providing a unique opportunity for capacity building and collaboration.

Following the call for peer reviews organised in October - November 2024, 15 cities under review have been selected to take part to the Spring 2025 peer reviews. The second peer review of the series will focus on Alba Iulia (RO), Komotini (EL), Pardubice (CZ) and Smiltene (LV). 

These four cities will receive recommendations from 20 peer reviewers coming from 7 countries and will be supported by the EUI team of peer review experts.

The Peer Review format allows each city under review to put forward 3 guiding questions - or challenges they are facing in relation to their sustainable urban development (SUD) strategy. When selecting the cities which will attend a peer review event, one of the criteria is to make sure a common question to all the cities under review is identified. This event's common question is planned to focus on funding and finance.
