2nd EUI Innovative Actions Call for Proposals – 112 applications received
We received 112 applications from 21 Member States for our second Innovative Actions Call for Proposals! This call is dedicated to innovative projects focusing on either: Greening Cities, Sustainable Tourism or Harnessing Talent in Shrinking Cities. Scroll down for an overview of the 2nd Call figures, find out which Member States are represented and the type of urban authorities and delivery partners involved.

For our 2nd Innovative Actions Call, we are delighted to have successfully received a high number of applications, representing 21 EU Member States. Most proposals and interested urban authorities are from Italy, with the highest number of applications received followed by Portugal and Spain.

In total 137 Urban Authorities applied for the 2nd Innovative Actions Call, out of which small and medium size cities (less than 250,000 inhabitants) account for 75% of cities who applied. All cities with under 50k inhabitants (23%) applied as Associated Urban Authorities being part of proposals led by Main Urban Authorities.


The biggest interest was for the Greening Cities call topic accounting for 48% of received applications. 29% of applications were submitted to the topic Sustainable Tourism and 23% of applications were submitted for the topic Harnessing Talent in Shrinking Cities.

Applicants mobilised a total of 638 Delivery Partners (on average 6 Delivery Partners per proposal). Average ERDF requested was EUR 4,4 Million (with maximum ERDF requested, the maximum level allowed – EUR 5 Million and minimum ERDF requested – EUR 1,6 Million).

Currently EUI Permanent Secretariat is conducting the eligibility check of received applications and the announcement of selected applications is planned for May 2024.
