Mechelen first wetland city in Benelux

Our city was the first in the Benelux to receive the prestigious recognition as a Ramsar wetland city. This is a title for cities that actively promote the restoration and protection of wetlands or wet nature reserves.

With masterplan Inner Dyle (Watsups) we try to reconnect the wetlands via a green-blue corridor throughout the city.
