SHARE - Lifelong Housing complex : we have a winner!

panel 1 of the winner project
The jury faced a difficult decision, as this was one of the first times a selection was made under the New European Bauhaus (NEB) criteria in Spain: easthetics, sustainability and inclusivity. The panel consisted of six architects: two from the Fuenlabrada City Hall (Marta Nieto and Carlos Rodríguez), one from the COAM (Official College of Architects of Madrid) (Carlos de Riaño), two of recognized prestige (Ignacio Mendaro and Begoña Fernández-Shaw), and the Secretary General for the Urban Agenda, Housing, and Architecture at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda (Iñaqui Carnicero).
At last, we now know the winning proposal for the renovation of the San Esteban school for the SHARE project. The selected project, LAETITIA, was designed by ENTRESITIO S.L.P., represented by César Jiménez de Tejada Benavides and María Hurtado de Mendoza Wahrolén, along with Borja Requena García.
The project will transform a disused public school building in Fuenlabrada into a Lifetime Housing Complex, a housing solution for independent seniors.
You can view all the winning proposals at this link.
Now, we embark on a new phase—shaping a sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful living space with the collaboration of future residents and their families. We’re thrilled to begin this journey!
