Third EUI Innovative Actions Call for Proposals – 110 applications received

We received 110 applications from 23 Member States for our Third Innovative Actions Call for Proposals! This call is dedicated to innovative projects focusing on Energy Transition or Technology in Cities. Scroll down for an overview of the 3rd Call figures, find out which Member States are represented, and the type of urban authorities and delivery partners involved.

For our third Innovative Actions Call, we are delighted to have successfully received a high number of applications, representing 23 EU Member States. Most proposals and interested urban authorities are from Italy, with the highest number of applications received, followed by Spain and Greece.

 In total 142 Urban Authorities applied for the 3rd Innovative Actions Call, out of which small and medium size cities (less than 250,000 inhabitants) account for 76% of cities who applied. All cities with under 50k inhabitants (25%) applied as Associated Urban Authorities as part of proposals led by Main Urban Authorities.

Interest in the two topics was fairly balanced, with 52% of applications focusing on the Energy Transition call topic accounting for 52% of received applications. 48% of applications were submitted to the Technology in Cities topic.

Applicants mobilised a total of 651 Delivery Partners (on average 6 Delivery Partners per proposal). Average ERDF requested was EUR 4,5 Million (with maximum ERDF requested, the maximum level allowed – EUR 5 Million and minimum ERDF requested – EUR 2,3 Million).

Currently EUI Permanent Secretariat is conducting the eligibility check of received applications and the announcement of selected applications is planned for March 2025.
