The European Urban Initiative recently launched a new call for Peer Reviews. An opportunity for urban authorities to benefit from the experience of other cities in Europe to address the challenges they are facing in the design and delivery of their Sustainable Urban Development strategies. These SUD strategies are being developed and implemented across Europe addressing the ambition of the EU regulations to allocate at least 8% of the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) to sustainable urban development.

The upcoming 6th edition of the Cities Forum in 2025 is looking for a dynamic host city. This is a unique opportunity for cities to contribute to key discussions on the urban dimension of Cohesion Policy and to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable urban development. In January 2024 the Polish Kalisz-Ostrów Agglomeration (AKO) hosted the third European Urban Initiative (EUI) Peer Review in the city of Kalisz. The reviews are a pillar of the EUI capacity building offer, supporting cities to benchmark their Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) strategies, through peer learning and recommendations.
