On November 12th and 13th, over 100 persons joined the European Urban Initiative (EUI)-hosted event at the Strand Hotel, Limerick. Its focus was on enhancing the capacity of Ireland's local authority staff in the realm of (NEB) New European Bauhaus (promoting sustainability, inclusiveness, and beauty). Of particular focus were those who have applied to, or will soon apply to, the THRIVE scheme. THRIVE seeks to revitalise town centres by focusing on the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings, breathing new life into towns and making them more attractive places in which to live, work and visit while also preserving architectural heritage for future generations. THRIVE projects' alignment with the NEB is a significant part of the application process but with the objective of the event to not only aid applicants but also to embed an understanding and appreciation of NEB values and principles into the future.

Portugal regista uma participação muito significativa nas Parcerias Temáticas da Agenda Urbana para a União Europeia (UAEU), com cidades, regiões e outras entidades portuguesas a assumirem um papel ativo em 12 das 20 parcerias lançadas desde 2016, reforçando o seu compromisso com o desenvolvimento urbano integrado e sustentável.

Ministerul Dezvoltării, Lucrărilor Publice și Administrației (MDLPA), prin Direcția Generală Dezvoltare Regională și Infrastructură, îndeplinește rolul de Punct de Contact ESPON, respectiv Punct de Contact Urban (PCU) al EUI în România. În această calitate, MDLPA a organizat, în data de 16 decembrie 2024, un eveniment online dedicat orașelor mici din România.

Az ENSZ Emberi Települések bizottsága 2014 óta rendezi meg október végén, november elején a Városok Világnapját. Az emléknap célja, hogy előmozdítsa a nemzetközi közösség érdeklődését a globális urbanizáció iránt, előmozdítsa az országok közötti együttműködést az urbanizáció lehetőségeinek és kihívásainak kezelésében, és hozzájáruljon a fenntartható településfejlesztéshez. A Városok Világnapja kapcsolódik a 11. fenntartható fejlődési célhoz, hogy a városok „befogadó, biztonságos, rugalmas és fenntartható” életterek legyenek. A városok világnapjának idei témája a fiatalok becsatornázása a városfejlesztésbe, a kihívások kezelésébe.

European cities stand at a critical juncture, confronting escalating socioeconomic and environmental challenges while grappling with a significant finance gap to address these issues. Traditional funding mechanisms, compounded by constrained public funding and limited private sector participation, are often not sufficient for cities to meet the scale of investment needed. In response, cities are turning to new and innovative financial schemes as a solution.

Am 27. November fand in Budapest das Treffen der EU-Generaldirektoren für städtische Angelegenheiten (DGUM) statt. Im Fokus standen die Fortschritte der Städteagenda für die EU (UAEU). Konkret wurden zwei wichtige Themen im Zusammenhang mit den UAEU-Partnerschaften erörtert. Erstens wurden zwei neue Partnerschaften validiert: Gebäudedekarbonisierung und Wassersensible Stadt. Zweitens wurden die endgültigen Fassungen der von den Partnerschaften für nachhaltigen Tourismus und für umweltfreundliche Städte entwickelten Aktionspläne anerkannt.
